Describe one thing you loved growing up:
The outdoors. I loved being outside in my childhood – still do. During the summers when I was young, I remember going out early in the morning and not coming back home until I heard the church bells ring, which was a reminder that it was time for dinner.
Describe the longest road trip you’ve been on:
I have immensely enjoyed my yearly family vacations I have taken with my wife and two daughters. We all enjoy hiking in our beautiful national parks. On one trip, we flew into Las Vegas, rented a car and then toured Northern Arizona and Southern Utah. We spent time in Sedona, the south rim of the Grand Canyon, Bryce and Zion National parks, and Cedar Breaks National Monument. The hikes and views at Cedar Breaks and Zion in particular, were phenomenal.
Who is the most influential person in your life?
My wife Kim. She has reminded me that you can achieve anything you set your mind to doing. During the time I have known her, she has sold auto parts (for General Motors) in Southern Georgia; Worked for AT&T as an account executive; Ran her own printing business, and has renovated houses to be rented out or resold. In her 40’s, she went back to school and became a registered nurse. Most importantly, she has raised our two daughters to be strong, independent, kind, and hardworking young women.
